Low Voltage Start

If any check fails — low coolant, parking brake released, transmission not in neutral, battery below 11.7v, or hood open — SmartStarter refuses to start. After start, it will shut down your truck if any parameter becomes unfavorable.
Built-In Engine Protection.
SmartStarter continuously monitors your truck's engine to ensure it stays within safe operating levels — and will shut down the engine and disable remote/auto starting if anything goes critical.
Coolant Level
If coolant level becomes critically low, the engine is shut down and remote start is disabled.
Engine Oil Pressure
If oil pressure becomes critically low, the engine is shut down to prevent serious damage.
Engine Overheat
If the engine begins to overheat, SmartStarter shuts the truck down before it's too late.
Once you've inspected your truck and resolved the issue, remote/auto start can be re-enabled by resetting the in-cab SmartStarter switch.

SafeMode
SmartStarter has a built-in safe mode that disables remote/auto starting for the safety of technicians servicing your truck. Activate via the mobile app or the in-cab SmartStarter switch.
Hood Switch
SmartStarter will not start your truck if its hood is open. If the hood is opened after starting, SmartStarter automatically shuts the truck down.
Start-up Buzzer
For an additional layer of safety, SmartStarter sounds an audible buzzer alert before starting your truck — warning anyone nearby.
